16/03/20 COVID-19 Update
AWFA are monitoring the issue very closely and our in contact with the State and Federal Bodies we will keep you abreast of what is happening but be assured that no decisions will be made without consultation with the Presidents of the Clubs. Presidents will need to be readily available should we need to discuss any future decision on the season, please best contacts.
Basically what we have so far is:
“FFA also confirmed that grassroots football, including all levels of the National Premier Leagues and FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds, may continue to be played at this time in line with Government advice, but with additional measures implemented to further reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection or transmission through the football community, including recommended hygiene measures and appropriate social distancing at football matches. We are awaiting an FFA circular that will provide further information and guidance for clubs and participants on how to proceed from here. As far as for grassroots football is that it can continue with essential people only and they detailed those as being: "Players, Coaches, Officials, Required Volunteers & Suggested 1 parent per Junior player only"
